FLAGSHIP EXPEDITION A breathtaking 14-day journey through Ecuador's most spectacular landscapes — Andean volcanoes, Amazon rainforest, colonial cities, crater lakes, and the vast highlands that touch the sky. Culture, wildlife, Indigenous traditions, and world-class scenery in one expedition.
Every day is planned around light — sunrise and golden-hour shoots come first, logistics follow.
Capture colonial architecture, golden churches and the traditional plazas of the world's first UNESCO World Heritage city — with hands-on coaching throughout. After lunch we drive north to Imbabura Province, chasing golden hour across lakes and picturesque towns, and overnight at a colonial historic hacienda with baroque art in every corner.
Visit the volcanic lake of Cuicocha, then walk the Otavalo indigenous market for portraits and textiles. Night at the colonial hacienda.
Drive through the inter-Andean valley to the Papallacta area — waterfalls, lakes, mountain scenery and an overwhelming diversity of flora and fauna. Afternoon dip in the natural volcanic hot springs.
A day of dramatic contrasts — waterfalls, flora, fauna and local Amazon culture surround us as we find the best shots. Hummingbirds in flight and lush cloud-forest details.
A full day to explore and capture the jungle and its inhabitants — waterfalls and canyons, flora and fauna at the reach of the hand.
A full day visiting an animal rescue center and indigenous communities, where locals are welcoming and used to being photographed — the perfect chance for authentic portraits.
We leave the jungle for the subtropics and explore Baños — the picturesque town that survived the Tungurahua eruption. Canyons, waterfalls and rivers along the way.
Pailón del Diablo — the most impressive and powerful waterfall in Ecuador. Along the way, several bird species to spot, including the beautiful cock-of-the-rock.
Back into the high Andes: frame the electric-blue crater of Quilotoa from dramatic 13,000-foot rim viewpoints at sunset, with artisan storytelling in nearby Tigua.
Cotopaxi National Park — wild horses on the páramo at golden hour, condors and Andean wildlife, then dramatic night skies and astro compositions under clear Andean constellations.
The oldest Christian church in Ecuador and the Devil's Nose railway, then Ingapirca — Ecuador's most significant Inca ruins, ancient stonework framed against Andean skies. Night in Cuenca.
Photo city tour of Ecuador's most beautiful city — astonishing colonial architecture, vibrant markets, then refined blue-hour compositions of domes, cobblestones and riverside reflections.
Mist-covered lagoons and dramatic rock formations of Cajas National Park at sunset — fine-art mountain compositions to close the expedition. Night in Cuenca.
After breakfast we transfer to Quito or Guayaquil — memory cards full, portfolio transformed.
